Originally founded as a quick service restaurant in South Atlanta, Georgia, Kabobs served its patrons with tasty / unique skewered meat and vegetable brochettes. Driven by a solid focus to provide customers with exceptional service and high quality products, the Kabobs restaurants saw rapid growth and expansion by opening four additional store fronts within five years of the original location.

In 1986, Kabobs was approached by the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta to produce hors d’oeuvre-size chicken kabobs for their catering facility. Impressed with the quality and flavor profile of the hors d’oeuvres, the Westin and neighboring hotel establishments quickly expanded requests to include beef kabobs, bacon wrapped scallops and stuffed mushrooms. Realizing its successful growth in wholesale, Kabobs sold its restaurants and concentrated solely on producing hors d’oeuvres for the foodservice industry in 1990.
